this_location is a 4-channel sound installation with 1-channel video projection that addresses issues of dislocation from the perspective of urban constellation; this is approached by means of environmental sounds and images retrieved from a number of city landscapes, juxtaposed over spatial interaction, disorienting memory and immediate auditory experience; moving image projected at the installation space intends to augment listening.
The work has been conceived during Shunyasthan, a cross media art workshop and open studio in March 2011; and a prototype version has been exhibited at Studio 21, CIMA (Centre for International Modern Art), Calcutta, April, 2011.
